Sundays
What to expect? Our service starts at 10.30 and normally finishes around 12.00. We sing, pray, hear from a speaker, and sometimes take communion together. Afterwards, we stay for a panad (cuppa) to catch up and get to know each other.
You are welcome to take part in as much or as little as you like. If you haven’t been to church before and would just like to observe, you are most welcome to do that.
Kids Most Sundays (apart from over the summer) there is the chance part-way through the service for the kids to go to their own groups. We have ‘Green Group’ for primary age children and ‘Blue Group’ for secondary age. If you have younger children and would value space with them, parents can supervise children in the extension at the back of the main hall.
The Rest of
the Week
Our following of God and our connection with each other is not restricted to a Sunday. Throughout the week there are various things that go on. Chances to serve, to pray, get to know one another better. This is a brief list. Our weekly ‘what’s coming up’ notices are posted as a video on our Facebook page each Sunday.
The Bible
Looking for a way to read the Bible? If you are new to the Bible, you might be wondering how best to get into it. Reading from cover to cover works for some people but might not be the best way for most. Starting with a “gospel” (the books titled Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John - after their authors - which begin the “New Testament”) is a good first step.
There is also a great resource out there called “The Bible with Nicky & Pippa”. It takes you through the whole Bible, a day at a time over a year, with elements from different sections each day. Click the link to learn more and download the app!
Alpha
Want to know more about the Christian faith, about what we believe? Once a year we run an Alpha course at CPC.
Alpha is a series of group conversations that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment. Everyone’s welcome. No matter your background or beliefs, you’re invited.
